1 Более сложной лексикой, более сложной грамматикой.
I am writing to inform you that... – notI want to tell you...
I would appreciate it if you could consider my application. –notIt will be great if you have a look at my application.
2 Формальными словами-связками.
The waiter brought our order; however, it was cold. – notThe waiter brought our order but it was cold.
It is for this reason that we insist on a full refund. – notThat’s why we want you to return our money.
3 Более частым использование пассивного залога.
You will be informed. – notI will inform you.
4 Отсутствием кратких форм вспомогательных глаголов.
I would be grateful …– notI’d be grateful …
I am writing to … – notI’m writing to …
5 Отсутствием разговорных формул, слэнга, фразовых глаголов, идиом.
Write me soon. – notDrop me a line sometime.
I am interested in Art. – notI’m fond of Art.
