And now the most important part: every verb of motion has a special form, for example, идти/ходить, ехать/ездить, etc.

If the action is concrete and is happening at the moment of speech in one definite direction, we use the verbs: идти, ехать
If the action happens regularly or in many different directions we use the verbs: ходить, ездить, etc.

Ivan says to Vera:

Каждую неделю ходишь на выставки, на концерты....

Remember that with the verbs идти/ходить we normally say:
в театр, в кино, в музей, в ресторан, в школу, в университет, на работу…, so we use it when we want to denote an action without emphasizing how it will be accomplished: on foot or by transport.
