Третий is an ordinal number. It answers the question Какой? Который?/Which one?

Cardinal numbers change their forms in different cases in the same way as adjectives.

На первом , на втором, на третьем, на четвёртом, на пятом и т. д. / On the first, on the second, on the third, on the fourth, on the fifth, and so on.

Notice that the о is dropped in the word звонок — звонка.

(Я) буду ждать is the compound future: the auxiliary verb быть + infinitive.
